THe Cabinet

When my friends recently got married and moved into their first home, they knew they needed something special to fill the awkward space just to the left of their entryway. As a designer, I was thrilled when they asked me to create a custom cabinet for them. After taking some careful measurements and discussing their needs, we got to work designing a piece that would perfectly fit their space and style preferences.

With budget in mind, we chose 3/4" birch ply as our material of choice. My friends also loved the sleek, mid-century aesthetic, so I set to work constructing a cabinet that would reflect their tastes. Once the piece was assembled, I stained it with a rich dark walnut before applying a water-based polyurethane finish to protect and enhance the wood.

The end result was a stunning entryway cabinet that not only fit the space perfectly, but also added a touch of style and sophistication to their home. It was an honor to work with my friends and create something that they'll enjoy for years to come.
